Fusion: A Modern and Sophisticated Residence

Blending American and Industrial Styles for a Unique Home

With a deep understanding of the clients' preferences, living habits, and future planning, the design team behind Fusion meticulously analyzed the pros and cons of the space. They adopted modern design techniques to create a home that is both functional and visually appealing.

The use of different materials, linear geometric elements, and elegant color combinations are prominent throughout the design. The space is extended, interlaced, and integrated, thanks to the creative and exquisite construction methods employed. Open dining rooms, abundant storage cabinets, hidden doors, and sliding doors were strategically incorporated to overcome the limitations of the spatial configuration.

Fusion merges American and industrial style features seamlessly, resulting in a modern home with a sophisticated aesthetic. The combination of laminate flooring, iron paint, system cabinets, LED line lamps, embossed glass, art paint, latex paint, imported wallpaper, and organ curtains adds to the overall appeal and uniqueness of the design.

The residence spans approximately 59.5 square meters and features two bedrooms, two living rooms, an entrance, a dining room, a kitchen, a study room, and two bathrooms. The configuration was carefully planned to meet the clients' needs and maximize the use of space.

Ting Chang Chang and the design team successfully redesigned the spatial scale of the public and private spheres in Fusion. By adjusting the original three-bedroom layout to a two-bedroom configuration, they were able to create a study space and optimize the living and dining room areas. The open space in the living and dining room expands the spatial scale of the public sphere, while the use of clear glass partitions in the study room enhances the overall visual scale and comfort of the house.

The Fusion project was completed in July 2020 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research to ensure that the configuration of the limited space met the clients' living needs. They aimed to create a home that would inspire the clients and reshape their living environment to align with their expectations.

The challenges faced during the design process were overcome through the use of refined design techniques and delicate thinking logic. The designers utilized the characteristics of the site itself to improve the spatial quality and integrated the industrial and American style elements that the clients loved. The result is a unique spatial presentation that perfectly embodies the clients' ideal home.

Fusion has been recognized for its outstanding design and has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Fusion's refined design, practicality, and integration of industry best practices make it a standout project in the field of interior design.
